What actually matters here

Jewellery is the category where the listing text is least connected to the object. '925' stamps appear on brass daily; 'gold plated' can mean a plating measured in atoms. Weight in grams against the genuine item's published spec is the only number a seller cannot fudge — light means hollow or wrong alloy, every time.

Assume plating wears at contact points within weeks unless the listing explicitly claims thick plating (and even then, discount it). At these prices that is an acceptable trade — the scam is not the plating, it is paying solid-metal prices for it.

QC checklist — what to ask for before it ships

  1. Weight in grams against the genuine item's published spec
  2. Clasp mechanism working, in video if offered
  3. Plating at edges and high-contact points at full zoom
  4. Stamp close-up — then treat the stamp as decoration, and trust the weight
